The Indian Panorama of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), on Saturday, announced the selection of 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films, which includes Suriya’s Jai Bhim, SS Rajamouli directorial RRR, Hindi film The Kashmir Files, among others.
The selected films will be showcased at the 53rd IFFI which is scheduled to be held from November 20-28 in Goa. Organised by National Film Development Corporation, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, the Indian Panorama selection consists of a committee of 12 jury members for feature films and six for non-feature films. The feature film jury was headed by director and editor, Chairperson Vinod Ganatra.
In the feature film category, it consists of one Bengali, four Hindi, one Irula, two Kannada, one Maithili, two Malayalam, three Marathi, one Oriya, three Tamil, and two Telugu. Under the Mainstream Cinema Section, the selections include the Hindi film The Kashmir Files, SS Rajamouli’s RRR, Bengali film Tonic, Akhanda starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, and Dharmveer..Mukkam Post Thane in Marathi.
Suriya’s courtroom drama Jai Bhim which talks about the custodial torture of Irular tribe, and is based on true events, Cinema Bandi, a comedy-drama about a village coming together to make an indie film, Major based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, are part of the feature film category.
