The makers of The Flash released the final trailer of the film recently. The film, starring Ezra Miller in the titular role, is one of the remaining DC films developed before the takeover of James Gunn and Peter Safran as co-heads of DC Studios. While the trailer has been receiving some positive response, there is a section of social media which shows disappointment in casting Ezra Miller.

It is to be noted that the actor has been accused of various instances of misconduct, harassment and allegations of assault over various time periods in the last few years, including misbehaving with a minor and the child’s mother.

Pointing this out, many social media users refused to support the film that starred Ezra Miller and called out the makers for roping in an actor with allegations of misconduct. Some even called for the boycott of the film.

One social media user wrote, “Glad to hear that Andy Muschietti made a good movie, but I just can’t fathom ever supporting a film with Ezra Miller in it ever again. WB can trot out Stephen King and Tom Cruise to promote this film all they want, it’s just something I can live without. TheFlash”

Another user pointed out how actor Johnny Depp when accused by Amber Heard, was stalled from resuming his roles in Pirates of Caribbean and Harry Potter spin-off films, but was not the case with Ezra who went on to star in the same spin-off film as well as in The Flash.

Several others took to social media to point out the same and refused to support the film.

The Flash also stars Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as different versions of Batman. Directed by Andy Muschietti, the film’s screenplay is penned by Christina Hodson. The film’s cast also includes Kiersey Clemons, Maribel Verdú, and Ron Livingston. Sasha Calle also shows up as Supergirl. Social media stars Rudy Mancuso and Saoirse-Monica Jackson are also involved in the project in undisclosed roles. The Flash is slated for release on June 16.
