The shooting of Ramesh Aravind’s upcoming thriller, Shivaji Surathkal 2 – The mysterious case of Mayaavi, is currently on floors. After 21 days of shoot, the makers have released the second poster from the film today on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivaratri. Incidentally, Shivaji Surathkal was released on the same occasion in 2020.

Directed by Akash Srivatsa S, the film features Ramesh Aravind as Shivaji, and this time, the film delves deep into Shivaji’s personal life too. “The sequel will witness three generations of the Shivaji family coming together in the film that also witnesses three different timelines. Incidentally, Nasser, who plays Shivaji’s father Vijendra Surathkal, is sharing screen space with Ramesh Aravind for the first time in this film,” says director Akash.

The film also features Aaradhya as Siri Surathkal. “Shivaji affectionately calls her ‘Chukki’. How Shivaji came into the possession of Siri is a running theme in the film,” the director reveals.

The film has been extensively shot in parts of Surathkal, Malpe beach, Kapu beach, Marvanthe, Murdeshwara, and in Yellapura forest. “We have filmed in largely unexplored places. Ramesh Aravind took a pleasant trip down memory lane as he reminisced about shooting in these places for his many hit films,” he says.

Shivaji Surathkal 2 also stars Raghu Ramanakoppa, Radhika Narayan, Meghana Gaonkar, Deepa Kamath. Shobharaj, Srinivasa Prabhu, and Sumanth Bhat in pivotal roles. The film also marks the debut of Srishti Shetty and Madhura Gowda.

Cinematographer Darshan Ambat, son of legendary DoP Madhu Ambat, is onboard the project, which is backed by Rekha KN and Anup Gowda under the banner Anjanadri Cine Creations. The film has story penned by Akash, and music by Nakul Abhayankar.
