The fifth installment of action film franchise John Wick is in works. The development was confirmed by Lionsgate’s Joe Drake, during the Q4 earnings meet.

“What is official is that, as you know, Ballerina is the first spinoff that comes out next year. We’re in development on three others, including five and including the television series, The Continental, which will be airing soon. We’re building out the world and when that 5 movie comes, it will be organic — will be organically grown out of how we’re starting to tell those stories. But you can rely on a regular cadence of John Wick,” he was quoted as saying by The Hollywood Reporter.

It is to be noted that there are already two spin-off series in works, Ballerina starring Ana de Armas, and The Continental starring Colin Woodell and Mel Gibson. Meanwhile, the fourth installment, John Wick: Chapter 4 released in March to exceptionally positive reviews and commercial success.  Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Chapter 4 featured Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, Clancy Brown, and Rina Sawayama.
