George R R Martin has three animated Game of Thrones series in works

Game of Thrones author George R R Martin has shared with fans that he has three animated projects, set in the world of A Song of Ice & Fire, currently under various stages of development with HBO.

The 75-year-old writer, in his new blog post, shared his love for Netflix's animated series Blue Eye Samurai and then pivoted to share updates on the new shows.

"As it happens, HBO and I have our animated projects, set in A Song of Ice & Fire. None of them has been greenlit yet, but I think we are getting close to taking the next step with a couple of them," Martin shared, adding they began with four ideas for an animated show but two of them currently stand shelved

He, however, hoped that the projects would find life as "nothing is ever dead for good in Hollywood".

The storyline for the two spin-off projects is still under wraps. Talking about the third show in development, Martin wrote, "Work on the other two animated projects continues apace, however… and meanwhile, we have moved Nine Voyages, our series about the legendary voyages of the Sea Snake, over from live action to animation. A move I support fully." The writer said "budgetary constraints" would likely have made a live-action version expensive as half of the show is set at sea.

"So we now have three animated projects underway…Will any of them make it to the air? happen? No way to know. Nothing is certain in Hollywood.

But if it does happen, with one or two or all three shows, I hope we can make them as good as gorgeous and gripping as Blue Eye Samurai. We will for d*** sure try," the famous writer said.

Martin's books in the Game of Thrones series became the basis for HBO's mega-hit show that spanned for eight seasons and he is also the creative mind behind House of the Dragon, a show set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

Jeremy Renner opens up on overcoming aftermath of snow-plough accident last year

Hollywood star Jeremy Renner reflected on the past year of his life and spoke about his road to recovery after his near-fatal snow-plough accident that took place on January 1, 2023.

The actor, appeared on CNN's New Year's Eve broadcast and spoke with co-hosts Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen. When asked by Cooper as to what got him through his "unbelievable battle," Renner replied: "I'm just so blessed that I have so many things to live for, brother”, reported People.

He further mentioned: “I have a giant family, I have a 10-year-old daughter, (and) I would've disappointed and really messed up a lot of people's lives if I would've passed, and so there's a lot for me to get better for.”

As per People, the Marvel star noted that he is also "pretty stubborn”. He said: "There was a lot for me to fight for, and recovery was just a one-way road in my mind. My recovery became a relief for me, because I knew I could give relief to my family, my daughter and all those that I really affected. And my poor nephew, who was there with me on that day, I gave him images that he can never unsee, but I know that my healing would be healing for him.”

Renner added: "With that, I'd never thought about my own physical ailments, my own pain, or my own anguish. I had so many things to fight for, so the one-way road of recovery was my mental, sort of, attitude, and that attitude was always to get better. There's no option other than that. And I still work at every part, every day, and thank God that I have a lot to fight for.”

The actor mentioned that he broke over 30 bones and underwent multiple surgeries after his snow-plough ran him over while he was helping his nephew get a stuck vehicle out of the snow on New Year's Day at his property in Reno, Nevada, last year.

On the workfront, the third season of Mayor of Kingstown starring the actor in the lead role, will go on floors soon. The crime drama thriller was renewed for a third season earlier this year but faced delays after Jeremy faced injuries after the snowplough incident. A release date for the third season of Mayor of Kingston is yet to be announced.

First look of Coyote vs Acme out

Earlier we had reported that Coyote vs Acme, a live-action/CG hybrid film that wrapped principal filming in New Mexico in 2022, was shelved for a $30M tax write-off.

The studio had done this before with Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt. However, the Coyote vs. Acme backlash was strong enough that the studio reversed its decision.

Eric Bauza, who is voicing Wile E. Coyote in the film, took to X, to share the first look at Coyote vs. Acme. The first look poster had an animated Coyote seated beside his live-action lawyer, portrayed by Will Forte. Additionally, Lana Condor can be spotted sitting behind Coyote and his lawyer, although her role has not yet been disclosed.

The movie is inspired by a fictional 1990 New Yorker article by Ian Frazier, which reported on Coyote's lawsuit against Acme for personal and emotional injuries and damages he suffered from their products.

The movie was written by Samy Burch, who has won praise for her screenplay for Todd Haynes' May December, and directed by David Green, whose credits include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016).
