Nivedhithaa Sathish dubs for Captain Miller

On Wednesday, actor Nivedhithaa Sathish took to her official X handle (formerly Twitter) to share a photo of herself from the dubbing studio, revealing that she has begun dubbing for her upcoming film, Captain Miller

Along with the photo, she wrote, "Sambhavam Loadinnn… Say whaat, Killer Killer – #CaptainMiller" Helmed by Arun Matheswaran, the film stars Dhanush in the lead role. 

Captain Miller is backed by Sathya Jyothi Films and also stars Priyanka Mohan, Sundeep Kishan, Shivrajkumar, and John Kokken, among others. Music is scored by GV Prakash Kumar, with Siddharth Nuni as the cinematographer.  

The film is expected to be an action drama, set against the pre-Independence era. After Captain Miller, Dhanush and Arun will be once again reuniting for a film.

Captain Miller is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 15.

Maal to premiere on Aha 

On Wednesday, the OTT platform Aha announced that the Tamil film Maal will premiere on the streaming platform on September 22. The film is written and directed by Dinesh Kumaran. 

The trailer of Maal shows us that a couple of unrelated people are forced to encounter each other and fight, because of a smuggled idol that is much in demand. 

Asraf, VJ Pappu, Jey, Saikarthi, Gowri Nandha, Dinesh Kumaran, S.P Gajaraj form the cast of Maal. With cinematography by Shivaraj R, the film will feature music by Pathmayan Sivanatham and lyrics by Mohan Raja. 

Maal is produced by Shivaraj R and Karthik MB of Kovai Film Mates and is co-produced by Ramkumar Sathish of MCA Film Factory. 
 

Trailer of Shot Boot Three is here 

The makers of Shot Boot Three released the film's trailer on Wednesday. Written and directed by  Arunachalam Vaidyanathan, the film stars child artists Kailash Heet, Praniti Praveen, and Poovaiyar among others in lead roles. 

Touted to be a children's mystery film, the trailer of Shot Boot Three introduces us to Kailash who adopts a dog in place of a sibling. When his dog is kidnapped due to a conspiracy, he and his friends unite to find it. 

Venkat Prabhu, Sneha and Yogi Babu also play key roles in Shot Boot Three. The film's music is composed by Rajhesh Vaidhya.

Besides writing and directing, Arunachalam produced the film under his home banner, Universe Creations. He is best known for films like Achchamundu! Achchamundu! (2009) and the Arjun Sarja-starrer Nibunan (2017). 

Shot Boot Three's technical crew has cinematographer Vignesh Vasu and editor Barath Vikraman. The film is all set to hit theatres on October 6.

Vijay Antony releases statement after daughter's death

While condolences have still been pouring from all quarters for the death of Vijay Antony's elder daughter Meera, the composer-actor has released a statement on her passing.

Vijay Antony took to his X handle and wrote, "My daughter Meera is very loving and brave. She has now gone to a peaceful world devoid of caste, religion, money, jealousy, pain, poverty and hatred. She is still talking with me. I have died along with her. I have started spending time now with her. Whatever good deeds that I will be doing henceforth on behalf of her, will be initiated by her."

Meera, who was sixteen years old, died by suicide in their residence in Alwarpet around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19. Following the young child's demise, many from the film fraternity took to social media to pay condolences.

Meera, who was majorly kept away from the limelight, became famous earlier this year after a photo of her with a winner sash went viral on the internet.

Trailer of Trisha's The Road is here

The much-anticipated trailer of Trisha's The Road was released by its makers today. The film, which is directed by Arun Vaseegaran, hits theatres on October 6.

The 2.42-minute-long trailer opens with the quote, "In revenge and in love woman is more barbaric than man is." We see Trisha questioning the reason behind accidents frequently occurring in NH 44. Set in Madurai, the rest of the trailer, showcases the mystery behind the accidents and Trisha's endeavours in cracking the case.

Apart from Trisha, other actors in the cast include Shabeer Kallarakkal, Santhosh Prathap, Miya George, MS Bhaskar, Vivek Prasanna, and Vela Ramamoorthy. The film, expected to be a thriller, is stated to be based on a real-life incident which happened in the early 2000s.

AAA Cinemaa Private Limited is backing The Road. The technical crew consists of Sam CS scoring the music, with KG Venkatesh behind the camera. AR Shivaraj is the editor.

 Trailer of Irugapatru is out  

The makers of the upcoming Tamil film Irugapatru unveiled the film's trailer on Thursday. The film will hit the theatres on October 6 

Directed by Yuvaraj Dhayalan, who has previously made Tenaliraman, Potta Pottim, and Eli, the upcoming film stars an ensemble cast, including Vikram Prabhu, Shraddha Srinath, Vidaarth, Shri, Abarnathi, and Saniya Iyappan.

The technical crew consists of Justin Prabhakaran as the music composer, JV Manikanda Balaji on the edit, and Gokul Benoy as the cinematographer.

Irugapatru is produced by SR Prakash Babu, SR Prabhu, P Gopinath, and Thanga Prabahran under Potential Studios LLP. A release date for the film is yet to be announced. Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical rights of Irugapatru.

Trisha quashes wedding rumours

Trisha took to her X handle to quash rumours regarding her marriage. The actor, who is busy with back-to-back releases in October, has requested fans and media to stop the rumours.

Several media outlets had reported that Trisha is set to tie the knot soon with a Malayalam producer. Refuting the news reports, Trisha wrote, "Dear 'You know who you are and your team, 'keep calm and stop rumouring' Cheers!"

Meanwhile, on the workfront, Trisha is awaiting the release of her upcoming film The Road directed by Arun Vaseegaran, which hits theatres on October 6.

Netflix series Kaala Paani gets release date 

Kaala Paani, the upcoming survival drama series, is set to premiere on Netflix on October 18.

Kaala Paani‘s cast includes Mona Singh, Ashutosh Gowariker, Amey Wagh, Sukant Goel, Arushi Sharma, Radhika Mehrotra and Vikas Kumar among others. The teaser, which has a poetic narrative, hints at the survival and escape from a particular place. Lush greenery and seas are shown, disturbed faces of the cast, as the video does not reveal much about the plot.

The upcoming series marks the second collaboration of Netflix with Posham Pa Pictures after their 2022 film Jaadugar. With Sameer Saxena serving as the show runner, he will also direct Kaala Paani along with Amit Golani. It is written by Biswapati Sarkar, Nimisha Misra, Sandeep Saket and Amit Golani.

'Maaya Maamalare' song from Demon out

The 'Maaya Maamalare' song from the upcoming Tamil film Demon, was released by the makers on Tuesday. The film, which stars Sachin and Abarnathi in lead roles, is gearing up for release on September 22. 

'Maaya Maamalare' is sung by Sreekanth Hariharan and Reshma Raghavendra. Composed by Ronnie Raphael, the song has lyrics penned by Karthik Netha. 

While Sachin is known for his stint in Beginning, Abarnathi's claim to fame comes from Jail. R Somasundaram is backing Demon under the Window Boys Pictures banner. The film is billed to be a psychological thriller based on real-life incidents and will have elements of horror.

Apart from Sachin and Abarnathi, Demon also stars Kumki-fame Ashwin,  Raveena Daha, Shruthi Periyasamy, Mippusamy, Prabhakaran, Abhishek, Tharani, Navya Suji and Saleema among others. 

The cinematography for Demon is handled by RS Ananda Kumar, while Ravikumar M has taken care of the edit. Vasanthabalan, who recently had the release of his latest directorial Aneethi, will be presenting the film.

Here's a new poster of Mysskin from Devil

We had previously reported that Vidaarth will be headlining a film titled Devil, with Poorna, which will have Mysskin composing music, as well as playing a character. On Wednesday, on the occasion of the veteran director's birthday, the makers released a new poster featuring the actor in sunglasses. 

Devil is written and directed by Aathityaa who is best known for making the 2018 film Savarakathi. Mysskin is debuting as a music director with Devil. The film also features Adith Arun and Subhashree Rayaguru in supporting roles. 

Karthik Muthukumar of Kuthiraivaal-fame is the cinematographer while S Elaiyaraaja, who earlier worked on Selfie, will be heading the editing department. Previous reports state that the film will have four songs and the makers are yet to release them. 

The film is produced by S Radhakrishnan and S Hari under the banners of Maruthi Films and Touchscreen Entertainment. Devil is yet to get a release date.
