Kreem trailer promises a riveting experience

Team Kreem, having completed shooting and gearing up for release, has unveiled the film’s trailer. Agni Shridhar, who has written the story, screenplay, and dialogue for Kreem, appreciated the courage displayed by director Abhishek Basanth, in addressing a societal issue in the film. He also commended Samyuktha Hegde’s dedication to her portrayal and expressed gratitude to producer DK Devendra, showing confidence in the film’s content.

“Kreem portrays a hidden reality that occurs in every village, state, and language in India,” says Sridhar, emphasising the need for courage to make a film like this. “The story of the film addresses the reasons behind the sacrifice of thousands of women in India every year,” he adds.


While producer DK Devendra expressed gratitude to Agni Shridhar for providing an excellent script, and acknowledged the stunning visuals captured by cinematographer, Sunjo Velayudhan, director Abhishek Basanth mentioned that he had been contemplating the film’s subject for ten years and took up the challenge to make the film when encouraged by producer Devendra. He also mentioned that Kreem would be available for the audience soon.

Kreem‘s plot, completely shot in neo-noir style, examines the ritual killing of women conducted to seemingly attain wealth and power, and is still happening today.

Samyuktha expressed her excitement about playing a role she had never attempted before and acknowledged the physical challenges involved in performing action sequences.

Starring Arun Sagar, Roshan, Agni Shridhar, Bachan, and Aaron Rodriguez in pivotal roles, Kreem has Shivakumar taking care of the art department. Made under Sumvardini Productions banner, the film has music by Rohit Sower and cinematography by Sunjo Velayudhan.

'Por Theeruma' first single from Birthmark out

The makers of Birthmark, starring Shabeer Kallarakkal and Mirnaa, released the first single from the film, 'Por Theeruma' on Wednesday. Composed by Vishal Chandrashekhar and sung by Shibi Srinivasan, the song has lyrics penned by Navin B. The song is a soldier's letter to his long-distance pregnant wife. 

Billed as a mystery thriller, Birthmark is directed by Vikram Shreedharan. He co-wrote the film with Sriram Sivaraman. The duo is also producing Birthmark. Birthmark also stars PR Varalakshmi, Indirajith, Porkodi, and Deepthie, among others. 

The technical crew consists of cinematographer Udhay Thangavel, art director Ramu Thangaraj and editor Iniyavan Pandiyan. Birthmark is produced under the Sapiens Entertainment banner. 

A release date for Birthmark is yet to be announced.

Full Swing S2 gets premiere date 

On Wednesday, Netflix announced the premiere date of the second season of their docu-series, Full Swing. The series returns to the streamer on March 9. The first season of the series premiered on the streamer on February 15, 2023, and was renewed for a second season in March. 

According to the streaming platform, Full Swing follows a bunch of versatile professional golfers on and off the course, across a relentless season of competition. "The golfers endure a high-stakes schedule week in and week out, including exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the PGA TOUR." 

The golf players who feature in Full Swing, include Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, Scottie Scheffler, Joel Dahmen, Ian Poulter, Matt Fitzpatrick, Dustin Johnson, Tony Finau, and Collin Morikawa among others. 

The second season of Full Swing is executive produced by Chad Mumm and Mark W Olsen of Vox Media Studios; and Paul Martin, James Gay-Rees and Warren Smith of Box to Box Films. 

Netflix's Mother of the Bride gets premiere date

Netflix announced on Wednesday that their upcoming rom-com, Mother of the Bride, starring Brooke Shields and Miranda Cosgrove in lead roles, will premiere on the streamer on May 9. The film comes from Mean Girls and He's All That director, Mark Waters. 

Mother of the Bride also stars  Benjamin Bratt in the lead. The film's supporting cast includes Rachael Harris, Sean Teale, Chad Michael Murray, Wilson Cruz, and Michael McDonald. 

The official logline of Mother of the Bride, reads, "When a mother gets ready for her daughter's surprise wedding, she discovers that the groom is the son of the man who broke her heart years ago." 

Mother of the Bride is written by Robin Bernheim and produced by Brad Krevoy. Amanda Phillips, Robin Bernheim, Jimmy Townsend and Galen Fletcher serve as the executive producers.
