Catherine McCormack joins Colin Firth-starrer Lockerbie's cast

Actress Catherine McCormack has signed up for Lockerbie, Sky’s upcoming limited series based on the 1988 terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. In the series, Firth plays Dr Jim Swire, and McCormack will essay the role of his wife Jane Swire. Lockerbie follows the couple as they look for justice after the loss of their daughter in the terrorist attack. The show will have five parts and will premiere on Sky’s OTT platform Peacock, whose partner in India is JioCinema.

The series also includes actors such as Sam Troughton (Murray Guthrie), Selwa Jghalef (Aisha), Mark Bonnar (Roderick McGill), Ardalan Esmaili (Abdelbaset al-Megrahi), and Andy Nyman (Edwin Bollier).

A co-produced venture of Sky Studios and Carnival Films, Lockerbie is written by David Harrower and directed by Otto Bathurst. Harrower is best known for the 2005 play ‘Blackbird’, whereas Harrower is the lead director of Peaky Blinders.

Exploring the attack and its repercussions, the series will offer “an intimate account of a man, a husband, and a father who risks everything in memory of his daughter and the unflinching pursuit of truth and justice.”
