Legendary Pictures has released the first look of The Toxic Avenger, starring actor Peter Dinklage. The upcoming film is a reboot of the 1984 action comedy film by the same name. The makers also announced that the film will have a premiere at the opening Fantastic Fest in Austin on September 21.
The Toxic Avenger will feature Peter as the lonely and aloof janitor Winston Gooze who is diagnosed with terminal illness. While he attempts to finance his treatment by robbing, he falls inside a container of toxic waste and gets transformed into a deformed monster called as Toxic Avenger.
Others part of the cast include Jacob Tremblay, Kevin Bacon, Julia Davis, Taylour Paige, Sarah Niles, Julian Kostov, Elijah Wood, Jane Levy and Macon Blair. Besides starring, Macon will also helm the project which he has written. Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, who backed the 1984 film, will serve as producers for the upcoming film as well.
A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
