Earlier we reported that the 2002 film Baba, starring Rajinikanth and directed by Suresh Krissna, will once again hit the theatres after 20 long years, marking the occasion of the Superstar’s 72nd birthday. 

Ahead of the release on December 12, the makers revealed that Rajinikanth has now dubbed for new scenes in the newly edited version. 

Following the announcement regarding the film’s release, the fans have expressed their excitement in large numbers. Due to the overwhelming reception, the makers are planning to release it in many theatres in Tamil Nadu and other states and countries.

The film is now technically updated with advanced DI and mixing. Besides, the film’s music composer, AR Rahman has requested a preview to check if he needs to upgrade the music as well.

Baba, produced by Suresh Krissna under his banner Lotus International, also features Manisha Koirala as the female lead actor, Delhi Ganesh, Goundamani, Sujatha, MN Nambiar and Sayaji Shinde, among others in supporting roles. Although the film opened to mixed responses, it is one of the cult classics in the Superstar’s filmography.
