Actors Ciarán Hinds, Rory Kinnear and Tanya Moodie have joined the cast of the second season of Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, the streaming platform announced on social media.
The series is developed by JD Payne and Patrick McKay. The upcoming series is set before the events of the Lord of the Rings films and against the backdrop of Second Age of Middle earth. The series is currently in production in the UK. Set thousands of years before the events of JRR Tolkien’s famed book series, the series follows the forging of the original rings of power during the Second Age that allowed the Dark Lord Sauron to spread evil across Middle Earth.
Others part of the cast include Sam Hazeldine, Gabriel Aluwudike, Ben Daienls, Stuart Bowman, Gavi Singh Chera, among others. The series will have Charlotte Brandstorm as the lead director and executive producer. Sanaa Hamri, and Louise Hooper are also attached as directors.
