The first looks of British royals Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Williams and Princess Kate Middleton, from the upcoming sixth season of The Crown, have been released by Netflix on social media.

While Ed McVey will portray Prince William, Meg Bellamy will portray his wife. The images show the royal couple holding hands, from their earlier days of relationship.

William, the elder son of late Princess Diana, met his wife in 2001 while studying at the University of St Andrews. Subsequently, they got engaged in 2010 followed by their wedding in 2011.

The makers of The Crown had paused the filming in September 2022 to mourn Queen Elizabeth II’s death. The sixth season of The Crown is set in the 90s and will feature the events of Princess Diana’s death. The fifth season so far has shown Diana being separated from the then Prince Charles, as she begins to look for love in someone else.

A premiere date for The Crown, season six, is yet to be announced.
