The makers of the upcoming film adaptation of the video game franchise Five Nights at Freddy’s unveiled the film’s trailer on Tuesday. The film is directed by Emma Tammi, based on a screenplay she co-wrote with Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback. Five Nights at Freddy’s stars Josh Hutcherson in the lead role and will release in Peacock and selected theatres on October 27. 

Billed as a horror thriller, Five Nights at Freddy follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. During his first night shift, he discovers that it will not be an easy task to survive the night at Freddy’s.

Five Nights at Freddy is produced by Jason Blum and Scott Cawthon for Blumhouse, the production house behind popular horror films, including M3GAN, The Black Phone and The Invisible Man. 

Besides Josh Hutcherson, the film stars an ensemble cast including Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Kat Conner Sterling, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Matthew Lillard.
