I remember Sarath Babu as a gentle giant: Ramesh Aravind

The demise of veteran actor Sarath Babu has taken the Tamil and Telugu film fraternities by grief. Having acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films, he was an actor who shared a warm camaraderie with actors across industries. One such actor is Ramesh Aravind, with whom he acted in Amrutavarshini (1997), Duet (1994) and Hrudaya Hrudaya (1999).

Paying tribute to the late actor, Ramesh Aravind recollects, “I remember him as a gentle giant. He was an ‘Ajanabahu‘ to look at but his character was as gentle as the breeze. The first thing that comes to my mind is his genial smile and soft gaze.” He adds that his pleasant manners were something everybody would remember.

Further speaking about his personality, he shares, “He was so health conscious. Many days, I have seen him stop his car half a kilometre away from the shoot location, so he could walk the rest of the way.”

“He will live on through our memories of films like Amrutavarshini,” he says as he takes a silent trip down nostalgia lane.
