Vacation Friends 2, the sequel to Hulu’s 2021 comedy Vacation Friends, is all set to hit the streamer on August 25. John Cena, Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Orji and Meredith Hagner will be reprising their roles from the 2021 film. The sequel is set at a Caribbean resort, as opposed to the first film, which was set in Mexico.
The first film, Vacation Friends, portrayed Howery’s Marcus and Orji’s Emily meeting and becoming friends with Ron and Kyla, played by Cena and Hagner, respectively. Having tied the knot in the first film, Marcus and Emily win an all-expenses-paid trip to a Caribbean resort. They choose to invite Ron and Kyla knowing that they could use a little vacation. On the trip, Marcus plans to meet the owners of the resort to place his stake at a hotel they own in Chicago. At the same time, Kyla’s convict father Reese (Steve Buscemi), appears announced at the resort after being granted out of his sentence.
Hulu also dropped the first-look poster of Vacation Friends 2 along with the release date. The poster features the four stars in vacation clothing, all ready to take the audience on yet another fun ride.
Clay Traver, who helmed the original, has also written and helmed Vacation Friends 2.
