We had earlier reported that Kalidas Jayaram has joined the cast of Shankar’s upcoming directorial Indian 2. The actor himself took to his Instagram to confirm the news, as he shared a photo along with the director. On Saturday, Kalidas shared a photo with Kamal Haasan and updated that the Taiwan schedule of Indian 2 has been wrapped.
Sharing a photo with the veteran actor, Kalidas wrote on Instagram, “Taiwan wrap, Indian 2.” (sic). The film will mark Kalidas’ second collaboration with actor Kamal Haasan after he played the latter’s son in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram.
On Friday, director Shankar also took to his Twitter to confirm that the schedule has been wrapped. Sharing a photo of himself from Taiwan, he wrote on the social media platform, “Bye Bye Taipei #Indian 2.”

Reportedly Kamal Haasan and Shankar’s Indian 2 is to hit theatres in the second half of 2023. The sequel of the 1996 film, Indian 2 will be a continuation of the blockbuster. The film is set in the pre-Independence era.
The film also features Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, Guru Somasundaram, and Bobby Simha in prominent roles. The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while Ravi Varman handles the camera.
