Actor Kristen Stewart is set to portray the role of writer-activist Susan Sontag in the upcoming biopic of the latter titled Sontag. The film will be helmed by Kirsten Johnson.
Based on the biography Sontag: Her Life authored by Ben Moser, the film will be written by Johnson and Lisa Kron. Sontag will be backed by Brouhaha Entertainment and will go on floors soon at Berlin Film Festival where Kristen is the jury president.
Gabrielle Tana, co-founder of Brouhaha Entertainment was quoted as saying by Variety, “We’re using Berlin as a moment to kick off the project and do documentary footage of Kristen as the head of the jury and talking to her about how she’s going to become Sontag. It will be a drama, but with a documentary aspect to it. Kirsten has a wonderful approach to storytelling, and this is reflective of that, so she will use documentary in it.”
Susan was American writer and activist, who published her works as essays and novels. Her best works include On Photography, Styles of Radical Will, Against Interpretation, In America. He main topics of discussion includes photography, culture, human rights among others.
