It was previously announced that the upcoming animated film Sneaks will feature a voice cast including Laurence Fishburne, Quavo, Coi Leray, Ella Mai, and NBA star Chris Paul. Now, the film has added more big names, including, Anthony Mackie, Martin Lawrence and Chloe Bailey.
The Princess and the Frog fame Rob Edwards will be writing and directing Sneaks. The film will follow Ty, a misguided designer sneaker, who is forced to set out on an adventure that takes him across New York City. He embarks on the journey as his sister gets stolen by a shady shoe collector. The catch is that Ty has only even lived in the comfort of his shoebox, and that changes all at once. The journey leads Ty to meet new friends, a ‘sole-mate’ and learn more about himself and the world around him than he ever thought.
Keith David, Sam Jay, Donovan Louis Bazemore, Kiana Ledé, Jonathan Kite, Amari McCoy, and Olympic skateboarders Sky Brown and Rayssa Leal have also joined the voice cast of Sneaks.
Grammy-winning musician Mustard will serve as the film’s executive music producer, and documentarian and sneaker personality Bobbito Garcia has been tapped to serve as a cultural advisor. In addition, Laurence, Helen Sugland, Len Hartman, and Gil Cloyd serve as producers on Sneaks. Executive producers include Quavo, Meko Yohannes, Robyn Klein, and Jeremy Ross.
