We had previously reported that actor Vasanth Ravi will be headlining a psychological horror film titled ASVINS. The makers have now confirmed that the film’s post-theatrical rights have been bagged by Netflix.

ASVINS is directed by debutant Tarun Teja, an indie filmmaker based in Germany. The film is based on the short film that Tarun made during the lockdown. Apart from Vasanth Ravi, the cast of the film also includes Vimala Raman, Muralidaran, Sara Menon, UdhayaDeep, and Simran Pareek.

ASVINS follows a group of YouTubers who accidentally unleash a 1500-year-old evil that crosses over from the realm of darkness to the human world. The title refers to the mythological twin gods ASVINS, associated with medicine, health and sciences.

“I was initially a bit hesitant to do a horror film right now. I was looking to explore romantic-comedy films. But when I heard the story and read the script of ASVINS, I immediately agreed to be part of this project because I did not know if I will get a project like this anytime soon. I also thought this will one kind of a horror film for Tamil cinema,” Vasanth had said to CE in a previous interaction.

With Praveen Daniel attached as a co-producer, BVSN Prasad has produced the film under his banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra (SVCC). The music for the film has been composed by Vijay Siddharth. Edwin Sakay serves as the Director of Photography while Venkat Raajen takes care of the editing.
