We had previously reported that filmmaker Alma Har’el will be teaming up with Natalie Portman for a limited series Lady in the Lake, currently in development at Apple TV+. While it was announced that Moses Ingram of Obi-Wan Kenobi has joined the cast, replacing Lupita Nyong’o, new additions to the cast have been announced now.

Noah Jupe, Mike Epps, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Josiah Cross and Byron Bowers are on board the project. Interestingly, it marks the second collaboration between Jupe and Har’el after Honey Boy. This makes them the latest additions to the cast, which already features Y’Lan Noel, Mikey Madison, and Brett Gelman.

According to the plotline, the series ‘takes place in 1960s Baltimore, where an unsolved murder pushes housewife and mother, Maddie Schwartz (Portman), to reinvent her life as an investigative journalist and sets her on a collision course with Cleo Sherwood (Ingram), a hard-working woman juggling motherhood, many jobs and a passionate commitment to advancing Baltimore’s Black progressive agena.’

Har’el co-writes, directs and serves as an executive producer. The show also marks Portman’s first foray into Televison.
