A brand new prequel set in the Game of Thrones world and revolving around Aegon 1 Targaryen is in discussion at HBO, according to a Variety report.
While the project is still in its nascent stages, a writer is yet to be attached to the project and the search is underway. The report also states that the makers are also dabbling with an idea of making a feature film with HBO and Warner Bros backing it. However, an official announcement is yet to be made.
The upcoming show will explore Aegon’s times and his wives Visenya and Rhaenys whose matrimonies are product of incest, and how the rulers used dragons to conquer the kingdoms of Westeros. Aegon 1 eventually became the first one to sit on the Iron Throne and maiden King of Westeros.
Meanwhile, it was only a few months before GoT prequel House of the Dragon ended with a renewal of the second season which is in production.
