Following confirmation that the lead actor Henry Cavill has tested positive for COVID, filming for the Season 3 of the Netflix fantasy series The Witcher has been shut down. Sources state that The Witcher team was just getting ready to shoot a big battle scene.

It was earlier rumoured that Henry Cavill might appear for San Diego Comic-Con, which just ended last week. The rumours fizzled out as Henry Cavill did not attend the event, leaving the DC fans who were waiting for a Man of Steel 2 announcement disappointed. Now, with the Covid positive confirmation, there is a fresh round of speculation going on that Henry Cavill probably couldn’t attend SDCC due to COVID and not because he is out of the DC universe.

The Witcher is an epic fantasy series based on books of the same name written by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. The book received a successful video game adaptation in 2007 followed by multiple sequels. The Witcher season 3 is currently expected to stream on Netflix sometime around December 2023.
