Sweet Tooth S2 gets release date

The second season of Netflix’s Sweet Tooth is all set to release in April. The post-apocalyptic series is based on dark comic books written and illustrated by Jeff Lemire. The series explores how people can survive in extreme conditions only by sticking together.

Sweet Tooth is set in a future where the majority of humanity has been eradicated by the mysterious Sick. The story revolves around Gus (Christian Convery), a young boy who is half-human and half-deer. Following his father’s death, Gus embarks on a journey beyond his sheltered life and discovers a world full of new experiences and marvels. Gus is under the protection of Big Man (Nonso Anozie), a wanderer who is trying to atone for his past misdeeds. Although Gus’s journey is filled with delight and amazement, there are also dangers along the way. Some people believe that sacrificing hybrid children like Gus is the key to finding a cure for the Sick, posing a threat to his life.

In Season 1’s finale of Sweet Tooth, the Last Men, led by General Abbot, imprison Gus in an abandoned zoo. Season 2 will continue the story from where it left off, with Gus bonding with other hybrid children and maintaining his hope for the future. Along with Aimee Eden, Gus will team up to free the hybrids and escape the Last Men.

Jim Mickle will return as the showrunner of the upcoming season. The cast of Sweet Tooth includes Adeel Akhtar, Stefania LaVie Owen, Aliza Vellani, Naledi Murray, Marlon Williams, Christopher Sean Cooper Jr., and Yonas Kibreab. James Brolin will provide the narration.

Season 2 of Sweet Tooth will be available on Netflix from April 27.
