We had earlier reported that The Super Mario Bros. Movie would be released on April 7. Now the makers have announced that the screen adaptation of the videogame franchise will hit the screens on April 5. 

According to Variety, The Super Mario Bros. Movie will release in more than 60 markets worldwide, including China, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Mexico and the U.K. and Ireland. The film which was slated to release on December 21, 2022, was postponed to April 2023.  

Directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, The Super Mario Bros. Movie has a script from Matthew Fogel.

The film stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
