Apple TV+ unveiled the trailer of its upcoming thriller series Hijack. The series stars SAG Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Idris Elba, who will also serve as the executive producer of the project.

Hijack is created by George Kay and Jim Field Smith, who also wrote and lead directed the series respectively. The seven-part series will also star Archie Panjabi. Hijack will debut on Apple TV+ on June 28 with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode every Wednesday through August 2.

Hijack, like the title suggests, will follow the journey of a hijacked plane en route to London over a seven-hour journey, as the authorities on the ground scramble for answers. Elba will play the role of negotiator Sam Nelson who needs to save the lives of the passengers. On the other hand, Panjabi will play the role of Zahra Gahfoor, a counterterrorism officer who is on the ground when the plane is hijacked and becomes part of the investigation. The series also stars Christine Adams, Max Beesley, Eve Myles, Neil Maskell, Jasper Britton, Harry Michell, Aimée Kelly, Mohamed Elsandel and Ben Miles.

The show is backed by 60Forty Films, and Idiotlamp Productions.
