Netflix previously announced its animated series Skull Island which is part of Legendary Television’s Monsterverse. Nicolas Cantu, Mae Whitman, Darren Barnet, Benjamin Bratt and Betty Gilpin are all set to lead the voice cast of this upcoming series. The streaming platform also announced that the series will premiere on June 22.
An anime series, Skull Island will feature a group of characters trying to escape a dangerous and mysterious island after getting shipwrecked. The series will see many kind-hearted explorers, attempting to rescue Whitman’s character Annie, leading them to the dangerous Island. They then discover Skull Island to be the home to bizarre creatures and terrifying monsters, including the mighty King Kong.
The voice role of the protagonist Charlie will be performed by Cantu, along with Whitman voicing Annie, Barnet speaking for Mike, Bratt as Cap and Gilpin as Irene.
Brian Duffield has created, written and executive produced Skull Island, along with Jacob Robinson, Brad Graeber, Jen Chambers and Thomas Tull also executive producing. Powerhouse Animation has taken care of the animation of the series.
