Apple TV+ released the official trailer of its upcoming three-part documentary series John Lennon: Murder Without A Trial. It is narrated by Emmy Award winner Kiefer Sutherland and set to premiere on December 6.
The docuseries will revolve around the life and murder of English music and cultural icon John Lennon. It will consist of some exclusive eyewitness interviews and previously unseen crime scene photos, along with the investigation and conviction of Mark David Chapman, his confessed killer.
“John Lennon: Murder Without A Trial is a deeply researched examination of John Lennon’s 1980 murder, which shocked and saddened the world,” reads the synopsis. For the docu series, the makers were granted extensive Freedom of Information Act requests from the New York City Police Department, the Board of Parole and the District Attorney’s office. In addition to this, it will also have exclusive interviews including Richard Peterson, a taxi driver who was witness, Jay Hastings, a doorman who heard Lennon’s last words, David Suggs, Chapman’s defence lawyer, among others.
The series is produced by 72 Films, and directed by Nick Holt and Rob Coldstream. The executive producers are David Glover, Mark Raphael, and Coldstream, alongside producers Simon Bunney and Louis Lee Ray.
