Apple TV+ series High Desert has been cancelled after its first season by the streaming platform. The dark comedy series stars actor Patricia Arquette in the lead role. Taking to social media, the actor announced that the show will not move to the second season.

“A lot of you have asked about High Desert and if there was going to be a second season, so I just wanted to let you know that we just found out that we won’t be coming back. That’s a sad bummer for all of us,” the actor. Nevertheless, Arquette thanked her fans for showering love for the series.

High Desert follows Peggy, an on-again-off-again addict who decides to make a new start after her mother’s demise as she makes a life-changing decision to become a private investigator. The series also features Matt Dillon, Christine Taylor, Weruche Opia, Brad Garrett, Bernadette Peters and Rupert Friend. Directed by Jay Roach, the show is created by Nancy Fichman, Katie Ford and Jennifer Hoppe. 

The first season is currently streamin on Apple TV+ and consists of eight episodes.
