Christopher Nolan cast his daughter Flora in Oppenheimer

Oppenheimer, the much-anticipated film of director Christopher Nolan, is all set to hit the theatres on July 21. Ahead of that, Nolan revealed that his daughter, Flora, has been cast in the film.

Noting that one day, Flora and Nolan’s wife and producer Emma Thomas, visited the film sets, and that’s when he got an idea to cast his daughter in the role of an unnamed young woman. Her character’s face is damaged by a nuclear explosion in a sequence within the main character’s mind. He further revealed that the decision was spontaneous and that it was wonderful to have Flora do the part.

It may be noted that Oppenheimer is an American nuclear physicist known as the father of the atomic bomb. He is also known for his role in the Manhattan Project during World War II. Oppenheimer has been credited as the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory, a place known for assembling bombs. The titular role is played by Cillian Murphy. The film also stars Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, and Robert Downey Jr., amongst others.
