Actor Jayam Ravi, who was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan II, has signed his next with Vels Film International Productions and the film will be helmed by Bhuvanesh Arjunan, an erstwhile assistant of Mysskin.
The mega-budget project is expected to be titled Genie and have Krithi Shetty playing the female lead. AR Rahman, who worked with Ravi in the PS franchise is also said to reunite for this film.
The film goes on floors today and is said to go on for two days. The makers are said to resume the shoot again on July 20. Speculations state that Kalyani Priyadarshan might play the other female lead.
Apart from this film, Ravi has Siren, co-starring Keerthy Suresh, and Iraivan, alongside Nayanthara and a possible collaboration with director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi in various stages of production.
