India Squad Announcement For New Zealand Series, Chief Selector Chetan Sharma Press Conference Live Updates: India have announced their squad for their upcoming white-ball series against New Zealand and the ODI and Test series against Bangladesh. Hardik Pandya will lead India in New Zealand T20Is, while Shikhar Dhawan will captain the side in ODIs down under. “We look mainly at the load management to see which player should be given rest or not. Dinesh Karthik… the way he came in the side, the way he performed. He is always available for the selectors. It is just that we are thinking to try a different set of players after T20 World Cup. Otherwise, doors are open for him. He is a great player,” said Sharma.

“I say it every time that we have to manage the players and when we do that, the media ends up writing about how different players are playing in the lineup with different captains.
