Preity Zinta is a very involved team owner in the IPL. Very often she can be seen in the stadiums cheering Punjab Kings. The Bollywood actor can also be seen distributing PBKS goodies to spectators often. She has been an integral part of the side since the IPL began in 2008 and even in 2024 she is as passionate as before. On Friday, Punjab Kings made history as they chased down a word record target of 262 against Kolkata Knight Riders.

During the match, Irfan Pathan, a former Punjab Kings player himself, revealed how Preity Zinta is a team owner.

“She is a wonderful woman. She was quite involved with the team. Haarne pe pareshan ho jaati thi, bahut pareshan ho jaati hai [She gets very upset when the team loses]. But she knows how to control her emotions,” Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports.

“Since she was a fantastic actor, very experienced and very successful, she knows it is not easy. She knows that every movie can’t be a hit. Similarly, she understands that we can’t win every match.

He added that she rarely showed disappointment.  “So, when she had a conversation with us after a defeat. In my three years with the team, we played more than 40 matches and I have seen only 2 or 3 times she showed us some frustration, otherwise she always remains calm,” Irfan added.

“She once made parathas with her hands in South Africa for the team. Almost 40 parathas by hand, because we won against Chennai Super Kings. She is of a different level of team owner.”

Preity Zinta had in the past said she made paranthas for the team.

“First time I realised, how much do you boys eat! We were in South Africa, and they did not serve good all paranthas at the hotel. Then I told them, ‘I will teach you all how to make aloo parantha’. Seeing that, the boys asked if I can make aloo paranthas for them too. I told them that, I will make aloo paranthas if they win the next match. They won it. Then I made 120 aloo paranthas for the team. After that I have stopped making aloo paranthas,” Preity replied with a smile.
