First set of announcements for Thalaivar 170 is here

Following the colossal success of Jailer, at a juncture where fans and film aficionados are all perking up the senses for the next outing from Rajinikanth, Lyca Productions on Sunday came up with the first batches of updates regarding Thalaivar 170. The initial set of updates for the upcoming film has been announced. Subaskaran will produce the film, with TJ Gnanavel as the director and Anirudh Ravichander as the music composer. The production house had previously announced this information earlier this year. However, another set of updates is still pending and is expected to be disclosed tomorrow.

It is to be noted that this is the first time Gnanavel will be directing Rajinikanth. The director last helmed the hard-hitting Suriya-starrer courtroom drama Jai Bhim

On the other hand, Thalaivar 170 will mark Anirudh Ravichander's fourth collaboration with a Rajinikanth starrer. The musician had earlier played keys for Petta, Darbar, and Jailer.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth next release will be Lal Salaam, directed by his daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, on which the veteran essays an extended cameo role. Furthermore, the actor will be joining forces with Lokesh Kanagaraj for Thalaivar 171, which is also backed by Lyca Productions.

Lal Salaam gets release date

It's raining announcements for Rajinikanth fans! On Sunday, just as fans finished hearing updates regarding Rajinikanth's Thalaivar 170 helmed by TJ Gnanavel, Lyca Productions announced the release date of Aishwarya Rajinikanth's upcoming directorial, Lal Salaam. The film will now hit theatres for Pongal 2024. As of now, the film will be competing with Sivakarthikeyan's much-awaited Ayalaan

Backed by Lyca Productions, Lal Salaam stars the veteran actor in an extended cameo, in a character named Moideen Bhai. Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth headline the film. While the former plays a character called Thirunavukkarasu, the latter's character name is yet to be revealed.

The upcoming film is billed to be a sports drama based on cricket. It will also reportedly have a political relevance. Lal Salaam has music composed by AR Rahman, marking his first-ever collaboration with Aishwarya. With cinematography by Vishnu Rangasamy, the film has editing by Pravin Baaskar. The makers are yet to announce more details about the film's cast.
