Kalanithi Maran gifts cheque to Nelson Dilipkumar after Jailer's success

Following the massive success of superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer, Sun Group's chairman and founder Kalanithi Maran met director Nelson Dilipkumar and presented him with a cheque.

Sharing pictures from the happy occasion, the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of Sun Pictures wrote, "Mr Kalanithi Maran congratulated @Nelsondilpkumar and handed over a cheque to him, celebrating the Mega Blockbuster #Jailer." 

Sun Pictures, the production house bankrolling the action entertainer, earlier in the day met Rajinikanth and presented a cheque to him. He offered him a choice of two cars as a gift. Rajinikanth selected the luxurious BMW X7 from the options. The production house previously bankrolled Rajinikanth films such as Enthiran (2010), Petta (2019), and Annaatthe (2021).

Jailer hit theatres on August 10, and it has minted a sum of more than Rs 500 crores at the worldwide box office. Apart from Rajinikanth, the cast also features, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Vinayak, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, Sunil, and Tamannaah. It also has cameo appearances by stalwarts of the Indian film industries, including Mohanlal, Shivrajkumar, and Jackie Shroff.

The film opened to mixed to positive responses and has Anirudh Ravichander as the music composer and Vijay Karthik Kannan handling the cinematography. Jailer marks Nelson's fourth directorial after Beast (2022), Doctor (2021) and Kolamavu Kokila (2018).

Jayam Ravi- Nayanthara's Iraivan trailer to be out on this date 

We know that Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara have teamed up for an upcoming film titled Iraivan. The latest update about the film is that its trailer will be unveiled on September 3. The makers shared the news through their social media handles, along with a glimpse of the trailer. 

 

 

Directed by Ahmed, Iraivan is billed as a commercial entertainer. The glimpse hints that Jayam Ravi would be essaying a cop character. Iraivan will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Jayam Ravi has previously played cops in films like Thani Oruvan and Bogan.

Backed by Sudhan Sundaram and Jayaram G of Passion Studios, Iraivan has cinematography by Hari K Vedanth and editing by Manikanda Balaji.

Iraivan marks the second collaboration between Jayam Ravi and Ahmed after Jana Gana Mana, a big-budget spy thriller, which is yet to be completed. The film's shoot got stalled halfway due to the pandemic-induced restrictions. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the composer for Jana Gana Mana as well.

On the work front, Jayam Ravi, who was last seen in Ponniyin Selvan 2, is also filming for Siren along with Keerthy Suresh. Nayanthara, on the other hand, is gearing up for her big Bollywood debut with the Atlee directorial Jawan, which stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead.

 The film is set to release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
